Bad Bunny To Bring Reggaeton To Super Bowl

Bad Bunny is about to bring reggaeton heat to the NFL’s biggest night. The Puerto Rican superstar has officially been tapped to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The announcement came Sunday from the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation, marking another massive milestone for the Latin trap icon. Fresh off a historic residency in Puerto Rico that pulled in over half a million fans, Bad Bunny enters this new era as the most-nominated artist at the upcoming Latin Grammys with 12 nods. His all-Spanish projects like Un Verano Sin Ti have not only dominated streaming charts but also redefined what global pop stardom looks like.

In a statement, Bad Bunny put the moment in perspective: “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

Jay-Z, who spearheads Roc Nation’s partnership with the NFL, praised Benito’s rise: “What Bad Bunny has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

The 31-year-old Grammy winner isn’t slowing down. He’s set to host Saturday Night Live on October 4, while his Hollywood résumé already includes roles in Bullet Train and Happy Gilmore 2. Fashion collaborations, chart-topping albums, and now the Super Bowl—Bad Bunny continues to embody the global reach of Latin music.

Behind the scenes, Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins will co-executive produce, with Hamish Hamilton returning as director. NFL exec Jon Barker promised a show that matches Benito’s dynamic energy: “We know his performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment.”

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show, headlined by Kendrick Lamar with a surprise appearance from SZA, pulled in a record-breaking 133.5 million viewers. With Apple Music’s Oliver Schusser calling Bad Bunny’s booking “historic,” expectations are sky-high for what could be another record-setting performance.

From Bayamón to the Bay Area, Bad Bunny is taking Latin culture to the center of the Super Bowl spotlight—and the whole world will be watching.
