The rap game will never be the same after Check’a Fred’s newest album “Check Mate !”. “Got Damn !” is easily my favorite track from the album. The song starts off with a really cool riff that is almost a country groove and then the bass line drops with Check’a Fred’s flawless flow. Instead of saying “God Damn”, he is saying “Got Damn” which is actually pretty clever when you listen to the lyrics. Every song on the album ends with either an exclamation mark or a question mark, but there is no question that this album is catchy. “Who Want The Smoke ?” is a great example of a catchy track that has a minimal instrumental track but the flow is powerful. I definitely don’t want the smoke. “Check Mate !” is a 13 track album that expresses the inner thoughts of Check’a Fred. It is a great album that has a lot of heart and soul.
This album has great guest features from Kidd Raw and Big Boss Q. It was actually produced by Check’a Fred along with Vicky The Producer, AyooTraa, and Mercy Cash.
