He is bringing the heat and has already done so on “Cassette” and “The First Time x Soultree”. His cover of “Dying 4 your love” is breathtaking and powerful. Honoré is a true artist and trendsetter, so we reached out to him for an interview.
Honoré Interview with Rock the Hip Hop
What city are you from?
The beautiful city of Los Angeles
How has your city influenced your sound?
Los Angeles is such a melting pot of different cultures, races, lifestyles, and vibes.
The Honoré sound is a mixture of all that: R&B/Pop with the influence of the 90’s.
I truly believe my music will resonate with everyone in some kind of way.
Tell us about your best performance?
One of my favorite performances was when I opened up for The Pussycat Dolls at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in the Philippines.
It was truly a game changer for my career. I was humbled and proud to be on stage performing my original songs.
The experience of learning more about my culture made me even more proud to be mixed with Filipino. This is a memory I will always cherish in my heart.
Talk about your latest project
I’m super excited to release my new album titled Purple with Estabrook Road Records. This has been an ongoing project for the past 3 years.
This album is a testament of what I’ve been going through from my past until the present day. I wanted to create an album solely written and produced by myself.
I’m truly proud of the singles we released so far: Cassette and The First Time x Soultree.
The 1st half of the Purple album is a mixture of the fun/ sexy sides of falling in love. The 2nd half is learning how to deal with the tragic/ sad side of losing that love.
I did add a cover version of Snoh Aalegra’s “Dying 4 your love”. I felt it captured the essence of what I wanted to achieve on this album.
I truly believe this Purple will speak to all the hearts of the world. Give it a listen, my hope is that it makes you dance, smile, give you hope, cry, and fall in love all over again…
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Creating music will always be part of my livelihood. In 5 years I see myself producing more for other artists, and having more major placements in TV and Film.
A couple of Grammys/ BET/ VH1 awards were displayed so beautifully in my home.
Directing more music videos and acting more.
