How has DC influenced your sound?

DC is such a culturally rich area, and it has its own swag. We get to see and hear so many styles of music. That opened my ears to what I can draw artistically.

Tell us about your best performance.

It hasn’t happened yet! Every show I’m learning more and more about how I want to present myself as a performer.

Talk about your latest project.

My latest project, Life For Now LP (out on September 23), was entirely self-produced. It’s a body of work that goes on a bit of a roller coaster stylistically. It talks about some of the things I went through last year as an 18-year-old experiencing love and life and everything that comes with it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I see myself stable in my career, putting on shows and making music with some of my favorite people. Spreading love and joy in any way that I can, either through my art or just by being a force in the world of music.
