Kanye West – Wash Us In The Blood feat. Travis Scott (Single
Review)
Confusing, avant-garde, weird, kind of interesting.
WASH US IN THE BLOOD
“They don’t want Kanye to be Kanye.” Does Kanye want to be Kanye? This song has moments of creativity that are buried underneath a headache of noise.
LIKE REALLY WASH US IN THE BLOOD
Kanye West is turning into the modern day Ornette Coleman. Once upon a time, Kanye West was content with making pop music that was easily digestible for his audience. Kanye West has long since abandoned that formula. Instead Kanye is opting to make bizarre music with mixed messages.
New Audience
It is quite apparent that Kanye West is now a gospel rapper. No longer does he make hip hop for the masses, but now he makes conscious hip hop that is meant to inspire people to turn to Jesus Christ. It seems like everything that Kanye West does takes us into a more religious direction.
Interesting
The music video has clips of police brutality but also a woman performing a Satanic ritual? I’m not sure. The music video is fascinating and well done because of how bizarre it is. To be honest, I don’t hate this era of Kanye, but I’m not crazy about it neither. WASH US IN THE BLOOD!
