Came Up

Pacii has forged a path unlike any other through struggle and hard work. Success is challenging to attain, especially as an artist rising from Buffalo, New York. Pacii, who hails from Buffalo’s slums, is proving that he, too, has what it takes to emerge from the city like Benny The Butcher and the Records label Griselda.

He titled his most recent single “Came Up” and in it he discusses many aspects of his current life as well as some of his personal goals. Close to a minute in the latest single he says “I’m taking these chances life is a gamble/ I go so hard to put food on the table/ I remember we was stressing we didn’t have no cable/ my life turned differently/ I see things differently” during the interview he referred back to the album “CHOSEN1” where he had a song called “Different” addressing the question of why he was moving differently.

Finally, he explained how he nearly lost his life but is now in control. We reached out to Pacii for an interview about his latest project, and he graciously agreed.

Where are you from?

Buffalo, New York. I’m all things Buffalo and I got mad love for my city and those who reside in it.

How has your city influenced your sound?

I look at my sound like a living thing, it has improved drastically from when I started and it’s all from watching what goes down in my city that has motivated me to be a better artist.

What instruments do you play?

My voice is my instrument.

What’s your best performance?

Stay tuned for my upcoming album “Pacii Baby” I’ve been working really hard on it with various artists like Moody71six, and J’dun (formally known as Losart) this is something I believe will move not only my city but the music industry. I feel that this will be my best work.

What is your worst performance?

I can’t say I’ve ever given a bad performance because everything I’ve ever put out was my best at the time, and I worked hard to get there. When I first started making music, I struggled with many things, but overcoming those limitations has led me here today.

Tell us about your newest single.

“Came Up,” my newest single, is available on all streaming services. Stay tuned for another one called “Demons,” which will be released soon. It’s also directed by Buffalo’s own Dhawks at Studio2099, who is one of the best directors I currently know and don’t take my words for it he’s work speaks for itself.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years, I see myself dominating the game; my goal for Buffalo is to create a music scene similar to that of Atlanta; I believe we can do it, and seeing those who came before me, such as the record label Griselda, emerge from here has truly motivated me and given me a new perspective on the city. It is possible to succeed, and the fact that we have someone in the industry proves that hard work and dedication pay off.

Does your family support your musical journey?

Of course, and I know my city supports me, and I have a great circle of artists surrounding me. People who are extremely motivated and willing to do whatever it takes to make our vision a reality. I had an interview with 93.7 WBLK in late 2019 and it made me question the method I was using at the time, so after some self-reflection, I realized that this city needs other artists to emerge, and I’m taking the lead behind Benny and his label.

Who do you want to collaborate with?

I want to work with Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Drake, and NBA Youngboy. I appreciate and respect their creativity, as well as the approach in and outside of the booth.

Any new projects you are working on that you want to share?

Keep an eye out for the album “PACII BABY.” I’m teamed up with the one and only SVG Records to get it out there, and it’s just a matter of time. Finally, I want to apologize to the fans for the long wait, but it over now. As I previously stated, the album is almost finished; we’re just adjusting minor details in the background, but it’s ready; keep an eye out for the release date.

I’d like to shout to any artists in Buffalo or representing Buffalo, I see your Visions.
