HAIM – Women in Music Pt. III (Album Review)
HAIM are three of the most talented sisters in music today. HAIM’s breakthrough album “Days are Gone” is one of my favorite albums of the 2010’s. Women in Music Pt. III is the third major studio album from HAIM and it doesn’t disappoint.
UP FROM A DREAM
“Wanna go back to sleep but now you’re up from the dream/Walk into the kitchen, pull the dishes from the sink/And you have changed in the blink of an eye,” sums up a lot of people’s dating life. You can spend years with a person and all of a sudden they just change in the blink of an eye. Life is precious. Never take for granted what you have and appreciate it while it lasts.
Los Angeles
Haim is Alana Haim, Este Haim, Danielle Haim
They are from Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles is the first track of the album and they want you to know that no matter what: LOS ANGELES IS THEIR HOME! New York is too cold and every other places pales in comparison.
Gasoline
Unlike their first album “Days are Gone”, this album doesn’t stand out as a masterpiece. This album is funky, folksy, singer songwriter, and a little bit rock n roll. The problem is a lot of the songs just don’t stand out. It feels like HAIM doesn’t take too many risks on this album. Is this a bad album? No. It is actually quite good. I really enjoy it, but a lot of the tracks just don’t stand out like bangers like “Falling”, “The Wire”, or “If I Could Change Your Mind.”
