How to Write a Korn Song
Korn Freak On a Leash
Korn wrote “Freak on a Leash” in 1998 and it changed the world! Korn had already cemented a name for themselves as an upcoming rock band with a unique sound, but Freak on a Leash made Korn a mainstream band. In 1998, musical genres were all fused together and rappers were doing rock and rockers were doing rap. Korn were the kings of Nu Metal along with Limp Bizkit, System of Down, Faith No More, and others.
Korn’s “Freak on a Leash” featured a section of complete gibberish. Some might call it scat singing and others might call it “what the hell is he doing?” Korn’s musical genuinely confused and intrigued people.

Korn Twist
“Twist” is an earlier example of scat singing from the compelling and great Jonathan Davis. There are so many instances of what the hell, but it sounds cool and exciting. Some sites don’t even attempt to have lyrics for the Korn song “Twist” other than the actual word TWIST! When you do try to look up Korn lyrics for “Twist” some sites will give you this:
dot be mer hot something

Korn Coming Undone
Rock the Hip Hop are huge Korn fans and we rock the Korn Logo all the time! Korn pioneered a certain sound and style. They used to rock the ADIDAS jumpsuit while singing that ADIDAS stood for “ALL DAY I DREAM ABOUT SEX”. They had a sexy low bass sound and everything about Korn was unique. Music in the 1990s actually stood for something meaningful and artists were trying to separate themselves from one another.
When you are such a trendsetter like Korn then you too will be Coming Undone!
Korn Singer Jonathan Davis
Some people like to write Korn off as a one-note joke where all their songs sound alike, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Korn’s lead singer Jonathan Davis is a diverse singer who is very capable of conveying pain and switching seamlessly between different styles of music. You should check out his solo work and the range he exhibits in some of his more intricate dark jazz-influenced sounds. In his solo work, many of the tracks rock the upright bass and it’s just WOW!
Korn Parody “How to Write a Korn Song”
We found a video online where Peaceful Piranha parodies Korn and it’s actually pretty spot on. He captures the style and sound in a hilarious way. Obviously, he is a Korn fan who is paying tribute and it just goes to show how memorable Jonathan Davis’ gibberish lyrics really are.
Korn Logo
Korn are pioneers! Parody is the sincerest form of flattery and we love a good parody. Korn is a band that will continue to inspire and be remembered which is why their tours are held in big stadiums and they are still selling out! Korn are innovators and even their logo is unique.
