Rock the Hip Hop Interview with FEELSOUL
Where are you from?
Morristown, NJ
How has your city influenced your sound?
My city has brought me stories and perspective. It has profoundly affected how I rhyme and view
music.
What do you think of the current state of music?
I think music is in an interesting space of searching for balance. A lot of music is strongly being
influenced by the 90’s, while there is music centered around social media. But art is art.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself doing tours, being creative and running multiple businesses.
Who is your biggest influence?
Jay Z by far although early on it was mainly Nas. So I believe I bridge the two.
Who would you like to collaborate with?
Any artist willing to work and take the craft seriously.
Tell us about your best performance.
I don’t think I’ve had my best performance. Everything is about learning and growth.
Tell us your worst performance.
I believe the answer is the same as the last question. I’m constantly growing and evolving. I feel
as if believing I’ve had a best or worse performance, would be me not accepting I need to
continue to evolve as an artist.
How do you plan on standing out from the competition?
Tricky question, for me it’s more about my brand. I design my own clothes and sneakers. I make
my own films, I produce, I write my own lyrics. I stay true to myself and my story. I try to give
lessons without overwhelming people.
Does your family support your journey as an artist?
Some do, some don’t. Either way I am who I am.
Tell us about your newest project.
I’m working on a few new projects at once. Level is a continuation of my last project. I’m also
finalizing a mixtape titled “FEAR 2”. This current release GOD freestyle is a bridge between
projects. It is a steam of consciousness and thought. It is my current perspective.
When did you notice people starting to like your music?
Honestly, it took awhile. I dealt with criticism and skepticism first. That made me put my head
down and just work. Then slowly but surely people started to pay attention. In some cases it took
for people to see my recording process and the fact I produce 99.9% of my music.
Any special names for your fans?
No, although at one point I thought of something cheesy like the disciples lol.
Where can we find your music?
What last message do you want to leave people who have never heard of you?
Go give it a listen sounds cliche, however, give it a listen. You never know you may discover
something different from the norm and you may just like it.
