My Journey is an Emotional and Passionate Rap Saga by Marcusv
“My Journey” by Marcusv is a passionate rap saga that takes you through his trials and tribulations. “People try to say that I sound like Drake/But I got my own struggle and got my own pain…” are lyrics that really resonated for me. When I first started listening to Marcusv, Drake came to mind. The difference between Drake and Marcusv is that Marcusv has lived a much tougher life. There is real pain in Marcusv’s voice because of being homeless and it really comes across in his delivery. Drake doesn’t have that kind of struggle or pain. His family was well connected in the music business and he got his start on Degrassi. Songs like “Streets are Callin'” have a high production value and are very emotional. Sometimes it is a real struggle to escape your past. “Use to” is an absolute masterpiece. The keyboard riffs are haunting. “Use to” details Marcusv’s struggle with homelessness. Marcusv is from the Bay Area and he’s been grinding for a while now. Hard work pays off and now he’s seeing success from his music. “Use to” currently has almost 30,000 streams on Spotify and it will soon go viral. I’m glad I had the pleasure to listen to this artist before he really hits it big. Toosie, Rayven Justice, Tory Lanes, and Drake may be a few influences of Marcusv, but he crafts his own unique and exciting sound that will soon take the world by storm.
