Lil Wayne and Birdman have a tumultuous past. At one point, Lil Wayne and Birdman were inseparable. They were so close that the two used to routinely kiss each other on the lips. Apparently, it was not a gay kiss, but a father/son kiss.
Why do people question the kiss?
Well, Lil Wayne and Birdman are not father and son.
Is it weird for two grown men to kiss?
If two grown men are gay then no it is not weird. If two grown men are related, then yes, it’s a bit bizarre.
Are Birdman and Lil Wayne bi-sexual?
It is possible that they are bi-sexual and were involved in a sexual relationship together. This has never been confirmed and only denied by both parties.
Homosexuality in rap
Homosexuality in rap has always been frowned upon. There are many openly gay or bi-sexual rappers, but there are also many who are still in the closet. The genre of rap is predominately men who have a “tough reputation” and many look down on gay people, which is sad. There is nothing wrong with being gay, but in hip hop, it is frowned upon.
Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X is important to hip hop. Why? He is breaking ground as one of the first openly gay rappers who flaunt their homosexuality. There are other gay rappers, but none are so blatant about their homosexuality. Lil Nas X is controversial for this very reason because he doesn’t mind making out with men in his music videos. Lil Nas X is being himself and that’s great. His presence in hip hop is helping to normalize homosexuality. Maybe one day, Birdman and Lil Wayne will be comfortable coming out (if they are gay or bi-sexual).
Birdman explains why he kissed Lil Wayne
Birdman was interviewed by REVOLT TV’s Big Facts podcast and his comments went viral when asked about his kiss with Lil Wayne:
“First of all, my own son, I would kiss him,” Birdman responded. “I always looked at Wayne as my son and I always looked at it like, ’cause I was in the streets, and I thought this might be the last time he ever sees me.”
“I was his father when he didn’t have a father since he was 9 years old. And I love him like my own and I’d give my life for him.”
