WWYD
A little bit of R&B, a little bit of hip hop, a little bit of trap, and a lot of soul is Richard. Richard stands apart from his competition with beautiful vocals and melodic phrases. When I listen to Richard, I get soothing, relaxing, and sexy. Richard makes the kind of music your girlfriend and you can listen to, but be careful, Richard WILL steal your girl.
We reached out to Richard about and interview and he agreed to be interviewed.
Rock the Hip Hop Interview with Richard
Describe your style.
My style is very 90βs mixed with a little new school. I write and sing about things that I know people can relate to and just overall vibe to.
Who are you as an artist?
I am an artist that sings and writes about personal experiences. I think life is the best teacher so I use that to add to my gift/ talent.
Describe how your city shaped your music?
Iβm originally from New York but Iβve also lived in Atlanta for half of my life so when you have both influences from the bad boy era to the SoSo Def era you canβt lose. It definitely influences you and your sound.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is Brandy!!!! If you listen to my music youβll hear the background influences. She just overall is a legend and an influence in music especially R&B music. But I also admire Joe, Donell Jones, job B., Iβm very old school when it comes to music. I like the classics.
Where do you see hip hop in 5 years?
I think hip hop will grow and new artist with emerge and create a new sound, but what Iβm more concerned about is R&b, I think people need to support r&b music and not just the mainstream artist because us Indie artist are really bringing great music to the industry especially me. Lol.
