Interview with Sharmila

Sharmila can dance, sing, and knows how to have a good time. Blending pop, dance, and electronic, Sharmila made a sexy and fun song called “Burning For You”. The music video is wild. There is dancing, colors, and good music. “Burning for You” is the kind of song that you can hear being played at every club. We reached out to Sharmila for an interview and she obliged.

Here is our Interview with Sharmila

What inspired you to get into music?

Music was always important to me. In my childhood, I was interested in performing arts, I took dance lessons for 8 years and was always busy listening to music and dancing every day until I couldn´t stop as I also wanted to become a professional dancer. Later in life, I started writing my own songs and took vocal lessons.

Who inspired you to start making music?

I always loved artists who did sing and dance. In my childhood, I was inspired the most I think by Janet Jackson. I loved the music video “the pleasure principle”.

How would you describe the music that you usually create?

Pop music with some influences from back in the days. The style can always change, it depends on the song I wrote.

Explain your creative process.

Lyrics often pop up in my mind along with a melody and then I write it down into a song.

Name someone you would like to collaborate with.

First I would like to finish my own projects and after that, let´s see. My 2nd album ´DNA Damage´ was delayed but is coming up. I recently lost my 25 year old daughter Tanisha. We´ve been sick from drinking unsafe tap water and she died on April 3. So, I´m going through a difficult time right now, but I wrote a few songs about Tanisha and these songs are coming up too.
